OVERVIEW

Many people spend their entire lives searching for themselves, trying to discover their interests. However, how many people really understand the definition behind the "self"? We use the metaphor of a blank sheet of paper to represent teenagers who have not yet entered society and who will encounter many obstacles in their search for self-worth. This is a story about an adventure to find one's own value.

Project Idea

This Is An Animation Project That I Collaborated On With A Classmate In The Art Studio. We Were Six Years Apart In Age But Shared A Common Pursuit Of Self-Discovery And Growth Through Our Education.

Motivation and Purpose

During childhood and adolescence, many people are in a period of self-discovery and exploration. We therefore hope that this film will help them understand themselves and start to establish their own sense of self-worth. We also hope to encourage them in finding their place in the world, which is the main message conveyed in the film.

Style Setting

We chose the rubber hose animation style because it allows for more flexible and elastic movements. It also provides greater imaginative possibilities within the animation style as a whole.

Environment Design

In this project, I was also responsible for drawing the scenes. It involved planning and designing everything from the imagined colors of the animated world to the environmental color adjustments. After that, we used Photoshop to composite the finalized hand-drawn sketches into the animation background to create a sequence of images, completing our animation segment.

Story Outline​​

The World Is Full Of Variety. However, The Protagonist Comes From A World Of Paper, And Is A Blank Sheet. The Paper Has No Comprehension Of Its Value, Nor Does It Know What To Do Its Time. One Day, The Protagonist's Father Determines That He Can No Longer Tolerate The Paper’s Laziness. The Paper Is Kicked Out, And A Journey Of Self-Worth Commences. ​

I have completed the storyboard for the entire animation, which will provide us with a more complete reference for the background and animation production in the following stages.

While Discussing The Story For Our Animation, We Recalled Our Childhood Experiences In The Taiwanese Education System. During This Time, We Where Constantly Studying For Tests, With Little Time To Develop Our Individual Talents. We Believe That Every Child Is Unique And Has Their Own Value, Even If They Fail In Certain Areas. Our Animation Aims To Convey This Message And Encourage Viewers To Embrace Their Individuality And Own Value.
